Dane Brooks became part of the TD*X family in the Summer of 2010. From the start, he immediately contributed to making TD*X Associates the world leader at managing hazardous wastes using thermal desorption technology. He started as a journeyman, but quickly rose to become the Operations Manager of the Robstown, Texas Facility. On his off time, Dane was an avid foodie, enjoyed watching and reading history, and loved being outdoors doing something fun. Dane embodied TD*X’s core values including his commitment to Safety, Integrity, Customer Service and Making TD*X a great place to work and the best hazardous waste treatment business in the world. Tragically, On July 19, 2017, he passed away in a motorcycle accident.

There is not a day where the TD*X family does not feel his great loss. In order to memorialize and celebrate the life of Dane Brooks, TD*X Associates created the “Dane Brooks Life Balance Award”. Every year, around Dane Brooks’ birthday, TD*X Associates has a drawing where a team member is awarded $5,000.00 USD. The winner gets to use that money to go on a vacation, anywhere in the world, and celebrate and honor Dane Brooks’ legacy. So far, there have been 6 individuals who have received this award and have had the opportunity to celebrate and honor Dane Brooks. We look forward to commemorating Dane’s life for many years to come.

Former Award Recipients include:

• Pete Sulock 2017: Pete traveled to the Minnesota Super Bowl with his father (former hockey goalie) aka the craziest Pittsfield, Massachusetts native (The Pete Sulock!)
• Mark Hardin 2018: Mark traveled to the Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio) with his family visiting his wonderful mother, Joan.
• Jose Salazar 2019: Took a giant leap forward in his travel experiences and left the U.S and Mexico for the first time traveling to Italy, France and England.
• Spencer Snyder 2020: His travel was delayed by Covid-19, however he eventually traveled to various European countries including Spain where many of his beautiful family reside.
• Justin Pena 2021: Traveled on his honeymoon with his wife, Damali, to both Athens and Santorini, Greece.
